The Twin Cities has transformed themselves into a bike lover’s dream.

Amsterdam: Nearly 40 percent of the traffic throughout the city consists of bicyclists, making it the so-called “Bike Capital of the World.” Lower speed limits for cars and new lanes so pedalers can bypass traffic signals make this city a biker’s paradise.
Portland, OR: This north-western U.S. city is home to more than 350 miles of bike-friendly roads and paths as well as Create a Commuter, which provides bikes to low-income adults in work programs. The program is the first of its kind in the United States.
Bogotá: Not only does the Colombian capital have the most extensive network of bicycle paths and trails (called CicloRuta) in the world, but the city’s bus system has bicycle-parking facilities so riders can combine public transit with pedal power.
Minneapolis-St. Paul: The Twin Cities has transformed themselves into a bike lover’s dream: Cruise along the Mississippi River past the Guthrie Theater or take a tour on the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway to see Minneapolis’ scenic chain of urban lakes.
Paris: The City of Lights is home to Vélib’, the world’s largest bike-share system. Visitors and locals alike can rent bikes around the city for less than $1.50 an hour to take in the city’s fabled sites, including the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysées.
