GRAND WINNER
Our Bedouin hosts, at a Bedouin camp near Petra, Jordan, got a hold of my Sky magazine and were enjoying the peek into Western life and culture. My daughter looks on.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
September 10, 2009. First NFL game of the season. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans. Steelers win 13-10 in overtime. Finally at 52 years old, I was able to do one of the things on my "Bucket List," which was to attend a Steelers game! Just happened to have my Sky with me but didn't much reading done!

Cetona, Italy
Reading Sky on the steps of a farmhouse in front of Cetona, Italy, on a lovely late July afternoon. Tuscany has wonderful views everywhere you look. It's a quilt of color, like the Midwest but with mountains. Instead of soybeans and corn, you have grapes and olives and sunflowers everywhere.

Agra, India
This was taken in India in front of the Taj Mahal in September 2009. I thought it would be a great picture with such an awesome background.

Sydney, Australia
Picture of me with Sky magazine in front of the very famous Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Bridge. Taken September 4, 2009. It was a beautiful and sunny day and just so peaceful. It was the perfect place to relax and read about all the exciting locations that Delta serves. It was a little tricky to get the picture as I travel by myself, so I had to set up a tripod to take the picture, and boy did I get some stares for taking a picture with a magazine.

Giza, Egypt
On my way to Cairo this year to celebrate my 35th wedding anniversary, I saw Sky magazine's September issue talking about the 70 wonders of the world. Since I was on my way to visit two of them, I took Sky magazine with me. In this photo, I'm with my Sky magazine at the foot of Cheops pyramid in Egypt.

Munich, Germany
Photo taken September 25, 2009, at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, in front of Paulaner Beer Wagon and Beer House. Wanted to show that with all the excitement around at Oktoberfest, I couldn't stop reading Sky . . . the magazine for people who travel the world.

Knysna Elephant Preserve, South Africa
The picture was taken in September at the Knysna Elephant preserve in South Africa. This juvenile elephant was curious about my backpack, and I remembered that I'd put the magazine in it, so I got it out for a spontaneous photo opportunity. The elephant was trying to pull it out of my hands.

My husband and I took a two-week-long trip around Western Europe, but we both fell in love with Paris and can't wait to get back to that beautiful city.

Alberobello, Italy
Alberobello is a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its Trulli, traditional stone dwellings with conical roofs. The starkenss of the Trulli dappled all over the old city made a striking background to my wife reading Sky. We liked the juxtaposition of these traditional and mystical dwellings with the modern activity of reading a great glossy travel magazine.

Bend, Oregon
While riding in the Three Sisters Wilderness, just outside of Bend, Oregon, I decided to catch up on some reading.
