Thanks to a passionate dedication to discovering new talent (emerging bands like Washed Out, Neon Indian,Toro y Moi and Glass Candy have played here), and a killer bar known for its happy hours, draft beer, strong pours, good service, rad music and bearded dudes, The Mohawk is considered Austin’s coolest outdoor music venue. Expect bands in vans, not tour busses. “They just smell better,” says partner James Moody, “like they are livin’.”
