Lay of the Land

The Barcelona International Airport—also known as El Prat de Llobregat Aeropuerto or Aeroport de Barcelona—is situated 13 kilometers southwest of the city center (the airport abbreviation is BCN). Nearly 30 million visitors per year pour in through the airports twin terminals. Taxis are plentiful at the airport, and the cost from Terminal 2 is around 25 euros for a ride that takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes. From Terminal 1, the ride lasts around 30 to 35 minutes and costs approximately 30 euros. There’s also an express Aerobus service from each terminal, which costs 5.05 euros for a one-way ride and 8.65 euros for a round trip, the return for which is valid for nine days.
