Green thumbs will find inspiration (or down-right envy) after a walk through this urban oasis. The garden boasts more than 2,500 trees, shrubs and perennials, 17,000 bulbs and 500 annuals. Only bummer is the Test Garden’s limited hours—open to the public on Fridays from noon to 2 p.m., May through October. The rest of the week, the green space serves as the Meredith Company’s display garden, a testing ground for plants and a photography studio.
