Explore the rich past of the Spartanburg community at the Regional History Museum, located on the second floor of the Chapman Cultural Center. With artifacts spanning from 10,000 years ago into the early 21st century, the museum chronicles the area’s progression through time with astonishing depth and intrigue. You’ll see collections of military artifacts from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, old photographs, fine art and quilts that commemorate the rich textile industry that formed the bedrock of the area economy for nearly a century. Stop by the museum’s gift shop on your way out. Remember that if you visit on the first weekend of the month, admission is free.
