Table Rock State Park has been one of South Carolina’s most popular landmarks since the Civilian Conservation Corps created it in the 1930s—and many of its structures have been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Featuring two lakes, a towering mountain, campgrounds, fishing aplenty and an 80-mile-long hiking trail that passes streams and waterfalls, this park abounds in opportunities for soaking up the very best of the area’s natural scenery. Hike to the top of the dome itself for a stunning view of the surrounding land, and rent a canoe, kayak or pedal boat at Lake Pinnacle during the summer months. On the second Saturday of each month, enjoy the local musicians’ “Music on the Mountain” bluegrass jam sessions at the Table Rock Lodge.
