Chef Mark Cox, who teamed with wife Lisa to open his namesake restaurant in an abandoned 1920s church (the main dining room occupies the nave and choir loft), brings the same creative spirit to his menu, which uses all fresh ingredients and changes daily. Example entrees include sesame-crusted ahi tuna with citrus-jasmine risotto and walnut-crusted rack of lamb and loin with three-color potatoes, squash and zucchini. Zagat’s has named the restaurant No. 1 in Houston for many years.
