Public transportation is unusually good in Knoxville compared with cities of similar size. An excellent trolley system links downtown and the University of Tennessee, although service stops at 6 p.m. on weekday evenings, so keep that in mind for evening events. On Fridays and Saturdays there's an additional evening service during the academic year from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. There's also a decent reliable qlocal bus system, providing service all over town and shuttle service from specific parts of town, via bus and trolley, to the UT football games.
