What to Pack

Knoxville’s climate is hot May to September, cooler in fall and quite cold in winter. In the summer it can also be humid, muggy and buggy, so pack accordingly. Light breathable cotton or gauze is most comfortable if you plan to walk or be active. Mosquito repellent is an absolute must if you plan to be outdoors after 4 p.m., when they swarm in clouds. In the winter you’ll need layers, sweaters and a warm coat. Wear comfortable shoes, as Knoxville is a walking town, and you’ll be covering a lot of ground.
