An easy half-hour commute from Melbourne, and you’re smack dab in the middle of an island wildlife refuge that also serves as NASA’s launching headquarters. Besides offering up close and personal guided tours of the rockets and space shuttles, visitors can also see today’s active unmanned rocket program and even sign up for a lunchtime space program where you can dine with an astronaut. Admission to the Space Center includes IMAX space films, all of the shows and exhibits as well as the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour through the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. Don’t miss your chance to touch a moon rock and try some freeze-dried ice cream. Visit the Kennedy Space Center website for easy driving directions as they don’t have an actual physical address.
