Opened in 1824, this is the oldest (and one might argue the best) bakery in the city. The gorgeous cakes, delicate truffles and elegant pastries displayed in the window tempt many a passerby who, once inside, feel like they might have traveled back in time. Indeed, the café hasn’t changed much since it opened. Now, as in then, the glass display cases are filled with scrumptious pastries and tortes. Sit at one of the lovely tables and eat a piece of café with a potent cappuccino or take away your high-caloric treat wrapped in beautiful black and red paper.
