There could not be a better location for a French eatery than Wauwatosa Village’s curvy, pedestrian-oriented streets. A relative newcomer to this arrondisement, the two-story open floor plan and brick walls channel Bordeaux or Burgundy, especially once you’ve sampled plates of charcuteries and cheeses, or put in a lunch or dinner order for pheasant breast on papardelle pasta, Cabernet duck leg with local squash or bouillabaisse (fish stew in a tomato-saffron broth). Breakfast is no short order: Linger over sparkling cocktails, warm beignets, breakfast sandwiches and crêpes. Are you in a hurry? Decadent breakfast pastries, fruit tarts and rich-chocolate tortes, paired with Vahlrona hot chocolate or espresso drinks, can be made to go.
