Built in 1798 by Lord Dunmore to guard the entrance to Nassau Harbour, this imposing fort is the largest and arguably the most interesting of the three forts on New Providence Island. It features a moat (without water), drawbridge, dungeons and ramparts, although its 42 cannons have never been fired in battle. You can wander throughout the fort on your own, taking in the views of Nassau Harbor, or do so with a tour guide.
