This shoebox of a restaurant doesn’t try hard to sell itself. Without even a telephone, La Merenda takes reservations in person. It’s a small price to pay: Michelin-starred chef Dominique le Stanc—formerly of the city’s most highly regarded restaurant, Le Chantecler—creates the ultimate version of niçoise classic cuisine, and at a much lower price than you would have in his former digs.
