When soup becomes a spiritual experience, you can bet you’ve landed in the gastronomical heaven called Le Cinq at the Four Seasons Hotel George V. Even before the food arrives, it’s clear that luxury is spoken within the ornate interiors—a massive crystal chandelier dangling like a brilliant jewel in Marie Antoinette’s crown. The service is unquestionably some of the best in a town known for its manners, and one of the weapons in Executive Chef Eric Briffard’s arsenal is his gift at combining flavors. A serious example of his acumen is his milk-fed lamb from the Aveyron Region, which is served with sweet pepper jelly, friend lamb sweetbreads, stewed Arcimboldo tomato and zucchini and sour goat cheese.
