You wouldn’t want to miss out on one of the world’s most visted museums, the Musee d’Orsay, which houses the largest collection of paintings, sculpture and decorative objects produced between 1848 and 1914. It showcases what are simply some of the most remarkable works of the early modern era. The history of the birth of modern painting, sculpture, design and photography is right at your feet as you explore the museum’s permanent collection that spans from neoclassicism and romanticism to impressionism, expressionism, and art nouveau design. Located in the 7th arrondissement, the museum is in the Saint-Germain des Pres neighborhood between the Quai Anatole France and the Rue de Lille, which means it faces the Seine River on the Left Bank, offering you great views of the river as a bonus.
