Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is smack in the center of the Phoenix area, less than 10 minutes from downtown and within 25 miles of most of the region’s towns and cities. The highways that lead to and from the airport are efficient, so your drive will likely be a quick one. If you rent a car, reserve one ahead and pick it up at the airport, which is quick and easy. Taxis at the airport are plentiful (and regulated, though just from the airport) and there is also the Super Shuttle.
Super Shuttle vans each take up to seven passengers to different destinations. Fares are $13 to downtown Phoenix and around $25 to Scottsdale. 602-244-9000 or 800-258-3826. Last but not least, the METRO light rail began regular service in Phoenix in December 2008. Sky Harbor International Airport has a shuttle service to connect passengers going to and from the Phoenix airport with METRO. A Sky Train is being built and the first segment, slated for completion in 2013, will connect passengers to METRO Light Rail.
