This urban farm-cum-restaurant is one of the most unique places to eat in greater Phoenix. In addition to grabbing a meal, you can rent a community garden plot or buy a scooter. Joe Johnston has converted his childhood home into a retro, 1960s-era diner surrounded by a lush lawn, outdoor tables and towering trees. Place your order for a taste of this organic all-American grub (try the fig milkshake), then have a seat and enjoy. The slogan at Joe’s is “common food done uncommonly well” and ain’t it the truth!
