The museum reopened in April 2010 after a 127,000-square-foot expansion, making it one of the top visual arts facilities in the Southeast. Upcoming exhibitions include the character sculptures of North Carolina wood artist Bob Trotman and prints of John James Audubon. The Art in the Park program supports artists working in and with the environment to create outdoor pieces connected to the environment; the park is 164 acres. It’s a cool space inside and out, but the park makes for great art appreciation and a really good walk.
