Never mind that Salt Lake City is nowhere near an ocean, the sushi at Takashi rivals the stuff you’ll find on the coast. Fresh fish is flown in daily to create beautiful (and often unique—ever tried torched sablefish?) sushi and sashimi, plus a smattering of interesting rolls (strawberry fields: escolar, strawberry, spicy sauce and fresh chili peppers topped with toasted almonds and eel sauce). If you prefer your food cooked, go for the tempura or flank steak. If you have a group of six or more, make sure to make a reservation before 6 p.m.
