Several of San Antonio’s best restaurants, stores and museums are within easy walking or biking distance of one another. With an aim on improving energy efficiency and public health, San Antonio is one of the first American cities to feature the B-cycle bike-sharing program. Pick up a comfy grey bike with a sizable basket (great for carrying souvenirs from El Mercado) at any of the 20 stations across central San Antonio via a 24-hour, 7-day or annual pass and drop it off at the end of the day at any station (in other words, your trusty two wheels will be there when you need it and gone when you don’t). Check the website for bike tours—an excellent way to see the city and justify that bowl of queso at the end of the day.
