Saturdays at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market are magical. Get there early (by 9 a.m.; it opens at 8) for the best selection and fewer crowds. It’s sensory overload but in the nicest way. Go hungry and have breakfast at one of the vendors’ stalls and set out from there. Tip: Have Zach Houston, the typewriter poet, write you a poem: He is soulful and so very good (he is generally stationed at the front of the building. Just ask around).
