Transportation 101

Syracuse lies on three Amtrak lines (Empire Service, Maple Leaf and Lake Shore Limited) making regional rail travel to and from Syracuse a popular method of transportation. While most locals drive or carpool to work, a city-wide bus service—Central New York Regional Transportation Authority or CNYRTA—operates public transportation busses throughout Syracuse and its sprawling metropolitan area including Auburn, Oswego and Fulton. Additionally, four interstates (81, 481, 90 and 690) all run through Syracuse.
