Syracusecity amongst lakes

A short, 20-minute drive from Syracuse, the expansive Green Lakes State Park boasts two glacial clear green lakes that get their brilliant color from limestone bedrock. Adding to the majesty is the expanse of forest that encircles the waters. Plunging to depths of 198 feet, the lakes are actually meromictic, meaning the upper and lower levels don’t mix. Hike the 20 miles of trails, swim in the waters or pack a lunch and set up a picnic. Also check out the 18-hole Green Lake State Park Golf Course. During the winter visitors can even snowshoe its 10-miles of trails.
