Once used as shipyards, Granville Island is a 37-acre man-made peninsula that has lately grown to become a local favorite and tourist attraction. Take a short ferry or aquabus across False Creek and start by exploring the Public Market, where an array of vendors sell fresh produce, fish, cheeses and pastries. (Needless to say, the market is a great place to grab a quick—and delicious!—lunch.) Edible Canada offers daily two-hour tours beginning at 9 a.m. that cover the market and the island’s highlights. Afterward, sample house-made beer at the Granville Island Brewing Company, then browse the unique shops, restaurants and galleries, including Circle Craft.
