The Vancouver Public Library’s Central Branch is one of the largest public capital projects ever completed in the city, and it is magnificent. More than a simple library, this complex is an architectural gem. The nine-story structure was built to resemble the Colosseum, and it features a massive and striking atrium covered by a glass ceiling. There’s a continuous piazza surrounding the complex that is a lovely outdoor public space.
