Opened by the International Game Fish Association, this 60,000-square-foot Hall of Fame will amaze with life-size replicas of record catches suspended from the ceiling and interactive exhibits allowing you to reel in your very own catch via virtual reality. The largest fish displayed is Alfred Dean’s 2,664-pound great white shark caught in Australia in 1959. Other highlights include antique rods and reels as well as the Legacy Gallery honoring famous fisherman like novelist Ernest Hemmingway who was also co-founder of IGFA and its first vice president. Sift through the world’s largest collection of books and references on fish and recreation fishing at the E.K Harry Library of Fishes before taking in some fresh air outdoors at the marina and four-acre wetlands. The museum store stocks clothing, gifts and souvenirs as well as fishing reference materials.
