Savannah’s first National Historic Landmark tells the story of Girl Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon Low. One of the most visited historic house museums in Georgia and the nation, the 19th century structure was saved from demolition by the Girls Scouts, restored and filled with authentic furniture and family pieces. Low’s original artwork decorates the halls along with Gordon family photographs and documents and memorabilia associated with the founding of the Girls Scouts in 1912. Expect to see excited young girls dressed in green uniforms and badges shuffling through the halls as you explore the chandelier-adorned parlor. Don’t miss the small treasures displayed in the Regency cabinets, including a daisy-shaped brooch that served as a wedding favor from the groom for each of Low’s 10 bridesmaids.
