Contemporary art lovers will find plenty to appreciate in the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in the heart of Nice. Of particular interest are the exhibits illustrating how the 1960s pop art movement developed simultaneously in New York and in France, where it was known as Nouveau Réalisme. A large section is devoted to French artist Yves Klein, and to the Nice school including Sacha Sosno, Robert Malavaal, Ben Vautier and Jean-Claude Fahri. Admission is free, except for the guided visits offered on Wednesdays. The museum is easily accessible by taxi or by taking the main T1 tramline up to the Promenade des Artes at Garibaldi Station.
