Located in a luxurious Italianate villa built in 1878 for Ukrainian Princess Kostschoubey, this museum covers 15th to 20th century art. Named for the Belle Epoque poster art master Jules Chéret (the museum’s full name is Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret), who lived in Nice, the museum includes his paintings as well as works by Degas, Monet, Dufy, Rodin and Picasso. On the western side of Nice, the museum is easily accessible by 15-minute walk up the hill from the Promenade Anglais or by taxi. Guided tours, available Wednesdays at 3 p.m., require advance reservations.
