Located in the second arrondissement, chef Gregory Marchand’s Frenchie (a nickname he earned while staging at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen in London) is a cozy, inviting restaurant with exposed stone walls and wooden beams. For €45 (about $61), you have your pick of one of two appetizers (think duck foie gras torchon with pears and oriental bread crumbs), a main course (pheasant with snails, potatoes and watercress, or bream with chard and carrots), and cheese or dessert. The dishes reflect what’s in season and Marchand changes it up so frequently, no two meals will be the same. If you can’t get a reservation at the restaurant, try the Frenchie wine bar across the alley or the more casual Frenchie To Go.
